    CRUKs Ulster 15H Hydraulic Disintegration Shredder treats all Business Impact levels including TOP SECRET (BIL6), in accordance to HMG IA Standard No.5 and the advised shred size models identified in the CPNI standard. CRUK provide clients with a listing of serial numbers of all Hard Drives shredded and Certificates of Data Destruction. The certificate makes reference to the fact that the hard drives have been destroyed to 6mm shred size.
    Using Computer Recyclers UK (CRUK) mobile shredder, hard drives, tapes and other media can be destroyed down to 6mm shred size without leaving a client’s premises. This service includes an inventory of hard drive serial numbers and guarantees destruction of hard drives before material leaves clients site.

The process works to the standards expected by ADISA, ensuring the security and confidential data destruction of clients’ data. Below the written details, please see the flow chart summarising CRUKs On-site shredding process from start to finish;

    CLIENT ENGAGEMENT
    CRUK Pick up Questionnaires is provided to clients requiring on-site shredding. The Pick-Up Questionnaire collates all the required information to perform the on-site shredding.
    The questionnaire helps the client and CRUK identify the following before the collection and shredding is made;

    – Parking Issues
    – Physical site access issues such as height or loading bay dimension restrictions.
    – What identification is required to allow access
    – Are there stairs involved
    – Is a goods lift available
    – Details of the physical size and estimated weight of the collection
    – How is the Equipment presented for shredding?
    – Time slot for access and scheduling requirements.
    – Any relevant height restrictions to site and access roads.
    – Confirmation of building infrastructure including stairs, and door widths
    – Confirmation of agreed access route.
    – Details of quantity of hard drives requiring on-site shredding
    – Confirmation of agreed auditing detail and approved sanitisation process.
    – Confirmation of agreed type and mode of logistics.

    CRUK STAFF & PHYSICAL SECURITY OF VEHICLES

    CRUK vehicles have GPS trackers installed. The trackers allow CRUK to monitor the vehicles transport in real time and the GPS trackers data is stored for a minimum of 12 months.
    The shredding lorry is owned by CRUK and has installed in the rear cargo area an Ulster Shredder capable of shredding to either 6mm dependant on clients request.
    All CRUKs vehicles are alarmed, deadlocked, solid sided, non-branded, and have solid bulkheads. All CRUK drivers wear Computer Recyclers Limited Polo Shirts.
    CRUK also have a Driver Policy and a Safe Driving Guidelines document for its employees.
    CRUK drivers have Photo ID available to identify themselves to the client as the person responsible for collecting Equipment and completing on-site hard drive destruction.
    An Asset transfer note is always provided with every collection, listing what has been collected for on-site shredding. A signature is always required on the Asset transfer note from the client and CRUK, releasing the Equipment to CRUK to process.
    All CRUK staff are vetted in accordance with BS7858, with full DBS checks.
    Each driver has their driving licence or permit checked annually. Driving licences are checked on an annual basis in an adhoc way.

    CRUK COLLECTION PROCESS & PHYSICAL DESTRUCTION

    At site, CRUK locate their vehicle at the location requested by the client. This will be confirmed prior to the collection via the Pick-Up Questionnaire.
    The hard drives or other data media types are delivered to the vehicle by the client. CRUK agrees with the client prior to the activity that the details on the questionnaire are correct for the activity to be performed.
    The CRUK technician scans the hard drive serial numbers and the hard drives are then placed in to the shredder for destruction down to 6mm shred size shred size.

    Recycling

    All shredded Hard Drive material is recycled by an authorised treatment facility meeting the requirements of the WEEE directive and copies of their relevant permits and waste Transfer Notes can be provided to the client as required by the Environment Agency/Natural Resources Wales.
    CRUK have a TL11 WEEE exemption and Waste Carriers License
    CRUK keep records of all outgoing waste movements by weight. All outgoing waste is weighted using waste management partners Weight Bridge.
    CRUKs Managing Director Tyrone Griffiths is WAMITAB Qualified (Waste Management Industry Training & Advisor Board).

    Reporting
    On completion of the shredding of all drives, the client is invited to review the interior of the vehicle to confirm all drives are destroyed.
    A unique numbered waste transfer note is issued detailing the quantity of hard drives shredded. Client confirms and agrees by means of signature.
    CRUK provide the client with a listing of serial numbers of all Hard Drives shredded and Certificates of Data Destruction. The certificate makes reference to the unique reference identifier from the Waste Transfer Note and the fact that the hard drives have been destroyed to 6mm shred size.
